Essential Eligibility Criteria
When you receive your invitation to apply, you must fulfill these requirements:
⦁ Age: Be under 45 years old
⦁ Occupation: Select an eligible profession from either the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) OR the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
⦁ Skills Assessment: Obtain approval from the appropriate Australian assessment authority for your chosen profession
⦁ English Proficiency: Demonstrate competent English through one of these pathways:
⦁ Citizenship with valid passport from UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Republic of Ireland, OR
⦁ Language examination results meeting these minimum standards:
⦁ IELTS: Minimum 6 in all sections
⦁ OET: Minimum B in all sections
⦁ PTE: Minimum 50 in all sections
⦁ CAE: Minimum 169 in all sections
IMPORTANT: All language tests must be completed within three years before application submission
⦁ Points Test: Score at least 65 points (based on factors including age, language skills, qualifications, and professional experience)
⦁ Nomination: Receive official nomination from an Australian State or Territory government
To be eligible for this visa category, you must first secure nomination from an Australian State or Territory AND receive an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs.
