Post-Vocational Education Work Stream – This pathway allows international graduates with qualifications in occupations needed in Australia to temporarily live, work, and continue studying in Australia.
Post-Higher Education Work Stream – This pathway enables international students who have recently completed an Australian degree to temporarily remain in Australia to live, work, and pursue further studies.

Post-Vocational Education Work Stream Details

The Temporary Graduate visa offers international students who have finished their Australian studies an opportunity to extend their stay and gain work experience temporarily. Below are the primary eligibility requirements:

Key Requirements for Post-Vocational Education Work Stream

When submitting your application, you must:

⦁ Be younger than 36 years
⦁ Currently hold or have held an eligible student visa within the past 6 months
⦁ Select an occupation from the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
⦁ Have submitted an application for skills assessment with the appropriate Australian authority for your chosen occupation
NOTE: Your final skills assessment must confirm your suitability for the nominated occupation
⦁ Have completed one or more qualifications closely related to your nominated occupation within the past 6 months, following at least 2 years of study in Australia
NOTE: For this visa pathway, qualifying credentials include associate degrees, diplomas, or trade qualifications
⦁ Demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency through one of these methods:
⦁ Citizenship with valid passport from UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Republic of Ireland, OR
⦁ Test results meeting these minimum requirements:
⦁ IELTS: Overall 6.5 (minimum 5.5 in each component)
⦁ OET: Minimum B in all components
⦁ TOEFL iBT: Overall 83 (minimum 7 listening, 8 reading, 16 speaking, 18 writing)
⦁ PTE Academic: Overall 57 (minimum 43 listening, 48 reading, 42 speaking, 51 writing)
⦁ Cambridge C1 Advanced: Overall 176 (minimum 162 in each component)
NOTE: Language tests must be completed within 12 months before application submission
⦁ Arrange adequate health insurance coverage during your Australian stay

Post-Higher Education Work Stream Details

This pathway allows international graduates from Australian higher education institutions to temporarily remain in Australia. Here are the main requirements:

Key Requirements for Post-Higher Education Work Stream

When submitting your application, you must:

⦁ Currently hold or have held an eligible student visa within the past 6 months
⦁ Meet ONE of these qualification and age combinations:
For Bachelor’s & Master’s (coursework or extended) graduates:

⦁ Have completed a bachelor’s degree (with/without honors) OR a master’s degree (coursework) OR a master’s extended degree within the past 6 months, following at least 2 years of Australian study, AND
⦁ Be younger than 36 years

For Master’s (research) & Doctoral graduates:

⦁ Have completed a master’s degree (research) OR doctoral degree within the past 6 months, following at least 2 years of Australian study, AND
⦁ Be younger than 50 years
⦁ Demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency through the same options as listed for the Post-Vocational stream
⦁ Arrange adequate health insurance coverage
⦁ Meet health and character requirements
